Cell-derived Materials as Hydrogel Components

Alongside Dr. Santiago Correa and Dr. Robert Hincapie, we successfully expressed and purified self-assembling protein nanocages and optimized the expression and isolation of NeonGreen-encapsulated extracellular vesicles. The aim is to explore developing injectable hydrogels using cell-derived polymers as cross-linking agents to utilize these nanocarriers for potential immunotherapeutic applications.

This experience enabled me to expand my bacterial culturing skills as well as learn standard procedures for protein expression and hydrogel development.
